I want you to think about something. What do you do when you are expecting something? If you are like most people, when something is on the way…you are looking for it, preparing for it, and possibly cleaning up to make room for it. There is a motion to expectation.
What are you waiting for? Some of us may be waiting on a change, a blessing, a healing, peace and the list can be endless. Hold up, let’s pause, what are you expecting?
There are times in our lives that we stop expecting good things …we stop expecting blessings…we stop expecting a shift in our circumstances. That is a dangerous place to be, because it has the power to make us lose our focus and faith. When we stop expecting, we sometimes relinquish the power of our gifts and purpose. Listen, life is difficult. Hold on to your strength! It is essential to hold it, because it can help you hold on to your expectations.
When we are expecting something tangible, like a package, we look forward to it. We actively watch for it and may even sign up for update alerts on our phones or emails, to let us know when it will arrive. Unfortunately, we don’t have that type of tangible system for the delivery of our dreams, blessings, or deliverance. However, our faith and hope should keep us expecting! There is power in expectation because it will inspire us to keep working toward the goal. It will encourage us to keep doing the self-reflective work so that we are in position to receive.
Expectation fuels our energy to keep planning and to unlock doors of opportunity. Yep, and in some cases we’ve kicked that opportunity door down. Let’s be real, you know some of us have a powerful leg kick, cause we have been kicking down those doors and walls for a long time.
Don’t get tricked into the ho hum lull of status quo. Nope, Sisters let’s continue to expect! We must move in the motion of expectation. The forward motion will help us actualize into the purpose that we were created to be. It is the motion that allows us to fall forward and get up and regroup. Expect that your dreams will come true! Expect that your blessings will be beyond what you can ask or think! Expect that your hardships will be less! Expect that your heart will heal from the scars of brokenness! Expect that your strength and beauty will be magnified. Say it with me, there is power in expectation!
