A Grateful Heart

It is Thanksgiving season. Many are deciding on the Thanksgiving menu, the invitation list and the perfect outfit. Usually around this time of year, people stop to share what they are thankful for and why. However, I recommend keeping a heart of gratitude for 365 days. It is a mind and heart shift.

Having an awareness of the blessings in our lives keeps us grounded and centered. Imagine always focusing on what is wrong, what you don’t have, finding the fault in friends, ready with the complaintsĀ  to spit fire them out as soon as the room is quiet. Hmm, sounds like a miserable life and a waste of time.

When we center our thoughts and minds on being thankful for what we have been given, the opportunities that we are blessed with, the resources we utilize each day our hearts are filled with peace and joy. I challenge you to take a moment right now and think or write down five things that you are grateful for…not just general topics, like family and friends (yes we are grateful for them, but let’s dig deep).

I will tell you one thing that I am grateful for, my mentors. I have three smart, caring, and wise mentors that God has placed in my life. I am grateful that I am able to talk to them, learn from them and frankly just be in their presence. I’m grateful for my eyes that allow me to enter into peace as I gaze at the amber beauty of sunrises. The ideas that flood my brain so that I can encourage and continue to build Strong and Beautiful…no AI here, nope.

Life is difficult, but when we lead with a grateful heart the difficulties don’t seem insurmountable. Yes, plan your meal andĀ  indulge in your Thanksgiving traditions, think about your everyday encounters, the blessings that bring light to your heart…think on those things.

I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and space to explore positioning gratitude to anchor you.
